Italian artist, Gabriele Cappelli, has been represented by Cadogan Contemporary for over eight years. His work is collected widely and is held in private collections in the UK, Europe and the US. Capelli's paintings distil Classical aesthetic concepts and modernist abstract forms. Clean and powerful, his sculptural compositions, combining soft and bold colours layered with gold dust, generate a sense of a universal aesthetic language. His use of pure, unadulterated oil paint means his paintings have a true richness and smothness to their surface. This, along with the effortlessly flowing lines in their composition, combine to evoke classical themes that have formed the basis of so much of Italian art through the centuries.
