It can be a collection or combination of various things intentionally collected or randomly picked. The course is inspired by the RA’s exhibition Jock McFadyen RA: Tourist without a Guidebook and will explore the built environment. Participants will use collage techniques to create architectural spaces and build narratives to populate them. The focus will be on using colour, tone, line, texture and composition to push the boundaries and unlock narratives. Course tutor Sahra Hersi is a designer and practitioner. She studied architecture at the Royal College of Art and seeks to establish a working philosophy driven by the desire to reinterpret architectural methodology as artistic narrative. Her practice explores shared spaces, the public realm, community engagement, meaningful contributions and collaboration. Get a taste for the weekend by checking out Sahra’s free online workshop, created for our Saturday Sketch Club series.
